Random Thought of the Day
Today I woke up to the smell of fire, and I didn’t panic. In fact, I smiled. That’s because it wasn’t a forest fire, or a house fire that I was smelling, it was a campfire. You see, I live just a few miles away from a popular campground in a popular national forest. Smelling the campfire made me happy because I get to live in a place where people come to vacation!

I have woken up to the smell of fire once too, but I wan’t happy about it. In december 2006 there were a number of Bushfires in victoria, and I was upwind of one on an alpaca farm.
Mind you, it’s kind of funny to send text messages home saying that you’re alright. It makes them panic because they didn’t realise you were close to the fire in the first place.
